CVE-2024-40620Network attack vector

Sensitive-data disclosure via unencrypted HTTP exchange

Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024

Information disclosure in Rockwell Automation Pavilion8 5.20 allows remote authenticated users to read Console–Dashboard data over HTTP. The Console-to-Dashboard channel transmits sensitive information without encryption, allowing proxy-server logs to retain its plaintext contents. Access requires low privileges and visibility into the same-host HTTP exchange or its proxy logs; the bounded consequence is disclosure of transmitted data.
