Local privilege escalation via service pipe access controls
Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Improper access control in Fortinet FortiClient for Windows 7.4.0, 7.2.6 and earlier, and 7.0.13 and earlier allows local users to elevate privileges. The FortiSSLVPNd service pipe applies insufficient access controls to local client interactions, permitting abuse of the privileged service context. Exploitation requires high-privileged local access and grants the service's elevated privileges on the Windows host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
