Authenticated file overwrite via unchecked template path
Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Arbitrary file replacement in PublicCMS 4.0.202302.e allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files through its template-replace endpoint. The CmsTemplateAdminController replace flow accepts traversal sequences in replaceList path values and rewrites matched content without confining the resolved path to the site's template directory. A backend session is required; successful requests alter application-accessible files, affecting integrity without reported disclosure or service interruption.
