Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in PublicCMS 4.0.202302.e allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted file. CmsWebFileAdminController.doUpload applies path checks but does not restrict the uploaded file type, so crafted content is stored among managed website files. Access to the administrative upload interface is required; successful exploitation can run attacker-controlled code in the application context.
