Authenticated privilege escalation via unfiltered profile updates
Published Aug 5, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Mass assignment in UAB Lexita Pantera CRM 401.152 and 402.072 allows remote authenticated users to grant themselves administrator access. The PHP CRUD class's editProfile method writes the unfiltered POST array directly to the user model, including UserId and RoleId. A regular account is sufficient to alter its own role or, with a known UserId, modify another user's database record.
