Authenticated code execution via unsanitized SMTP configuration
Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Code injection in SeaCMS 12.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP through the SMTP settings endpoint. The admin_smtp.php handler accepts an unfiltered smtpserver value and persists it into PHP configuration consumed by weixin.php. A valid administrative session is required; successful injection runs attacker-supplied code with the web application's permissions.
