CVE-2024-40509Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cookie disclosure via reflected tab parameter

Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Cross-site scripting in OpenPetra 2023.02 allows remote attackers to read authenticated users' cookies through serverMFinDev.asmx. The endpoint reflects the tab query parameter into page markup without neutralizing attribute syntax, so an injected onmouseover handler runs in the browser. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to open the crafted URL and hover over a left-index item, exposing cookies accessible to client-side script.
