Authenticated RCE via unsandboxed Jinja template rendering
Published Sep 23, 2024 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Server-side template injection in Doccano 1.8.4 and Auto Labeling Pipeline 0.1.23 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. MappingTemplate.render passes an administrator-supplied label-extractor template directly to Jinja2 Template and renders it without sandboxing. Exploitation requires project-administrator access and executes shell commands on the server, with command output returned in the REST response.
