CVE-2024-40441Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Internal service access via model_attribs URL

Published Sep 23, 2024 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Server-side request forgery in Doccano 1.8.4 and Auto Labeling Pipeline 0.1.23 allows remote authenticated users to reach internal services. The request-testing endpoint passes the Custom REST URL in model_attribs to the auto-labeling pipeline, which issues the server-side request and returns valid JSON bodies or an error oracle. Project administrator privileges are required; successful requests can bypass network controls to query internal JSON APIs, while non-JSON targets still expose port reachability.
