CVE-2024-40414Public exploit

Memory corruption via unchecked list parameter copy

Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX1806 firmware 1.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through a crafted POST request. The sub_656BC handler takes the list parameter from /goform/SetNetControlList, passes it to formSetQosBand, and copies it with strcpy without checking its length. The HTTP endpoint is reachable without authentication from an adjacent network; the public proof of concept supplies 304 bytes, but no source demonstrates a specific post-corruption outcome.
