Local code execution via unquoted service path
Published Apr 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unquoted service path handling in Logitech Mevo Webcam App before 0.8.0 allows local users to execute code on Windows. The Windows service registration uses an unquoted executable search path, allowing a crafted executable in a parent path to run, but Logitech has not disclosed the service name or path. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and permission to place that executable where the affected service's path resolution can select it.
