Code execution via unchecked PPPoE credential copies
Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Buffer overflow in Vilo 5 Mesh WiFi System firmware 5.16.1.33 and earlier allows remote attackers on the LAN to execute arbitrary code. local_app_set_router_wan decodes and XORs PPPoE credentials, then copies their full unchecked lengths into separate 128-byte stack buffers. Access to the router's LAN service on port 5432 is required; oversized credentials corrupt the stack and execute code in the router context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
