Stored XSS via unescaped user names
Published Apr 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Sourcecodester Online ID Generator System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted user names. The save_users method stores the firstname and lastname POST values without neutralization, and the user page inserts them unescaped into HTML value attributes. A user must save a crafted profile and another authenticated user must open the user page, exposing that viewer's browser session to attacker-controlled script execution.
