CVE-2024-40060Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Rendering hang via oversized stacked-bar name

Published Jul 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024

Infinite-loop denial of service in wcharczuk go-chart 2.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to hang chart rendering via crafted bar names. The stacked-bar drawCanvas() path enters a nonterminating rendering loop when it processes a bar name that is too long for the available canvas. Reachability depends on a consuming application passing attacker-controlled stacked-bar names to the library; the affected rendering operation hangs that application.
