CVE-2024-39950Network attack vector

Unauthenticated device initialization via stack buffer overflow

Published Jul 31, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2025

A stack-based buffer overflow in Dahua NVR4XXX and IPC-HX8XXX firmware allows remote attackers to initiate device initialization. The affected network interface writes crafted packet data beyond a stack buffer, but Dahua has not identified the interface or parsing routine. No authentication or user interaction is required; exploitation reinitializes the device and disrupts its configured operation.
