Admin dashboard manipulation via unsafe innerHTML assignment
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stored HTML injection in the Vaultwarden 1.30.3 admin dashboard allows remote authenticated users to alter its rendered content. The user-role modal inserts attacker-controlled organization names and user email addresses into innerHTML rather than a text-only DOM sink. An administrator must open the affected modal; the default CSP blocks JavaScript, but injected markup can deface the dashboard or redirect the administrator.
