Plaintext password storage in Siemens LOGO! V8.3 BM and SIPLUS LOGO! V8.3 BM allows physically proximate attackers to extract user passwords. The affected controllers write user-set passwords without protection to embedded storage ICs, where the values can be read directly. Physical access to the device and direct IC extraction are required; the reported consequence is disclosure of stored user passwords.
