Arbitrary PNG write via unsanitized ImageId
Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in Jason Raimondi URL to PNG before 2.1.2 allows remote attackers to write PNG files outside configured storage. The HTTP query parser concatenates unsanitized nonnumeric parameters into ImageId, which filesystem.ts passes to path.join beneath IMAGE_STORAGE_PATH. Exploitation requires the filesystem storage provider and a crafted query parameter containing traversal segments; the resulting file is limited to PNG data in a server-writable location.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
