Stored XSS via unsanitized Quill editor values
Published Sep 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Decidim before 0.27.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser. The FormBuilder editor passed a persisted field value directly into its hidden field, allowing QuillJS to render attacker-modified HTML without the admin sanitizer added by the patch. Admin-panel or participatory-space administrator access is required to store the payload, and another user must render the editor content before browser-accessible data can be disclosed.
