CVE-2024-39872Network attack vector

OS privilege escalation via insecure update files

Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Privilege escalation in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before 3.2 SP1 allows remote authenticated users to gain OS-level privileges. The update process assigns insufficiently restrictive rights to temporary files before privileged processing. The Manage firmware updates role and an authenticated session are required; successful exploitation crosses from application access to the underlying OS.
