Privilege escalation via client-side scope enforcement
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Privilege escalation in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before V3.2 SP1 allows remote authenticated users to modify other users. The user-management interface relies on client-side scope enforcement and accepts changes targeting accounts outside the caller's allowed scope. The server must permit users to manage their own users; a low-privilege account can then alter accounts and escalate privileges.
