Permanent service interruption via crafted certificate upload
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Improper certificate handling in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before V3.2 SP1 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The certificate-upload workflow accepts a crafted certificate and mishandles it as an exceptional condition; Siemens has not disclosed the triggering certificate field. Low-privilege authenticated network access to certificate upload is required, and service remains unavailable until the offending certificate is manually removed.
