CVE-2024-39863Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unvalidated provider-description URL

Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Apache Airflow before 2.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject a malicious provider-description link. ProviderView._clean_description converts reStructuredText-style URLs into Markup anchor elements without restricting the URL scheme, leaving javascript URLs executable. Execution requires another authenticated user to open the Providers view and activate the crafted link, allowing script execution in that user's browser context.
