Arbitrary Python execution via exposed eval builtins
Published Jul 17, 2025 · Updated Jul 18, 2025
Code injection in roslaunch in Open Source Robotics Foundation ROS Indigo Igloo through Noetic Ninjemys allows local users to run Python code. The substitution handler calls eval with an empty globals dictionary, causing Python to reinsert unrestricted builtins while resolving launch-file arguments. Exploitation requires a person to launch a crafted file; the injected expression then runs with the roslaunch process's access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
