CVE-2024-3980Network attack vector

Authenticated file access via path traversal

Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Path traversal in MicroSCADA X SYS600 10.0 through 10.5 allows remote authenticated users to access or modify critical files. The same flaw affects MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP1 and 9.4 FP2 HF1 through 9.4 FP2 HF5; an undisclosed filesystem operation uses a user-controlled path or filename without confining it to an authorized directory. Valid credentials are required, and successful exploitation permits reading or changing system and application-critical files; Hitachi Energy has not identified the affected function.
