Authenticated command execution via OpenVPN interface injection
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Configuration injection in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via HTTP. openvpn.cgi stores the sel_open_interface POST value in NVRAM without validation, and openvpn.sh writes it into the OpenVPN server configuration. Administrative authentication and OpenVPN server mode are required; successful exploitation grants command execution on the router.
