Filesystem exposure via newline-injected FTP configuration
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Configuration injection in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to expose the router filesystem. The nas.cgi set_nas() path stores the ftp_name POST value in NVRAM, and proftpd.sh writes it to /etc/proftpd.conf without filtering newlines. Administrative web-session access is required; injecting DefaultRoot / permits traversal across paths accessible to the FTP account and creates a route to shell access.
