Filesystem exposure via ProFTPD configuration injection
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Configuration injection in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to expose the router filesystem via HTTP. The nas.cgi set_ftp_cfg() path stores ftp_max_sessions without newline filtering, and proftpd.sh writes it into /etc/proftpd.conf. Administrator access to the web interface is required; injected directives can remove the FTP root restriction and expose files accessible to the FTP account.
