Arbitrary permission changes via disk_part traversal
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Path traversal in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to change arbitrary filesystem permissions. The nas.cgi add_dir() handler passes an unfiltered disk_part value containing ../ sequences into mkdir and chmod commands, allowing paths to escape the intended directory. A valid administrator session and network access to the HTTP interface are required; successful exploitation can make any file or directory writable and executable.
