Authenticated command execution via crontab injection
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
OS command injection in Wavlink AC3000 firmware M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The adm.cgi sch_reboot() handler inserts the restart_hour POST value into an SCH_Reboot crontab entry without validating or neutralizing crontab syntax, and sch_reboot.sh appends that entry to the adm2860 user's crontab. A valid administrator session is required; successful injection executes commands with the router service's privileges and can alter data or interrupt service.
