Authenticated command execution via custom interface injection
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
OS command injection in Wavlink AC3000 firmware M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. In internet.cgi set_add_routing(), selecting Custom makes the custom_interface POST value flow unfiltered into a command buffer executed by popen. Access to the router management interface and administrative authentication are required, after which injected shell syntax gains command execution on the device.
