CVE-2024-39757Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unbounded AddMac parameter

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The wireless.cgi AddMac() handler passes the unbounded addMac POST value to sprintf for a fixed stack buffer, allowing input longer than 0xc20 bytes to overwrite the return address. Administrative authentication is required; successful exploitation executes code on the router and can fully compromise or interrupt it.
