Service interruption via blocking user-controlled file read
Published Oct 31, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Denial of service in Ollama before 0.1.34 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through the unauthenticated Create Model API. CreateModelHandler passes the caller-controlled req.Path value to os.Open and parses the resulting stream to completion, so /dev/random never reaches end of file. Repeated requests leave goroutines consuming CPU after clients disconnect, eventually interrupting the service; no authentication or user interaction is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
