CVE-2024-39708Public exploit

SYSTEM code execution via writable DLL search path

Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024

DLL search-order hijacking in Delinea Privilege Manager Agent before 12.0.1096 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. The Windows core agent service searches a user-writable .NET Shadow Copies directory for httpapi.dll before trusted locations and loads an attacker-planted DLL. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a service restart, which can be triggered through MSI repair or a system reboot.
