CVE-2024-39683Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Session information disclosure via empty fingerprint matching

Published Jul 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in the user-session listing API in ZITADEL allows remote authenticated users to read other users' session data. The ListMyUserSessions query compared the requested fingerprint with an empty user_agent_id, so fingerprint-less sessions created through the Session Service matched and were returned. Access requires a signed-in user and interaction through the API or Console UI; the exposed records cannot be used to take over sessions.
