Authenticated HTML injection via unescaped recipe excerpt
Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
HTML injection in Gora Tech Cooked 1.7.15.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter recipe pages via crafted excerpts. The recipe-save path accepts arbitrary markup in _recipe_settings[excerpt] and later renders it on recipe and browse pages without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and page visitors see attacker-controlled HTML in compromised recipe content.
