CVE-2024-3968

Local code execution via unvalidated plugin upload

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper input validation in OpenText iManager 3.0.0 through 3.2.6.0300 allows local users to execute code through a custom file upload task. The Plugin Studio installer accepts attacker-controlled plugin files from that task and loads their code without adequately validating the uploaded content. Exploitation requires low-privilege local access and high-complexity conditions, after which code runs in the server application's security context.
