Unauthenticated configuration disclosure via unrestricted Controller endpoint
Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Information disclosure in Apache Pinot before 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to read Controller system and configuration data. The Controller's /appconfigs handler returns architecture, operating-system, heap, ZooKeeper-path, and Pinot configuration values without enforcing access control. An unauthenticated network request to an exposed Controller is sufficient, and the reported impact is limited to reading those values.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
