CVE-2024-39675

Unauthorized Modbus access via non-managed VLAN exposure

Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Improper service exposure in Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROS serial devices allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to access Modbus. The firmware wrongly enables the Modbus service in non-managed VLANs, crossing the configured VLAN trust boundary. The flaw affects only serial devices in some configurations and exposes Modbus operations to adjacent unauthenticated attackers.
