Stored script execution via unescaped cart text
Published Aug 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Automattic WooCommerce 9.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The loop add-to-cart template outputs the product add_to_cart_text() value without escaping, allowing a plugin or theme to pass user-controlled content through the woocommerce_product_add_to_cart_text filter. Exploitation requires administrator access, a plugin or theme that exposes the filter to user input, and a multisite installation or disabled unfiltered_html; the script runs when the affected listing is viewed.
