Contributor-level stored XSS via rich snippets
Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WP-PostRatings 1.91.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through Google rich snippets. The Google rich snippet output stores contributor-controlled content without sufficient input sanitization and later renders it without adequate escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the script runs when another user opens the injected page, exposing that user's browser session to attacker-controlled code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
