Service interruption via unbounded language-code parsing
Published Jul 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Denial of service in Django 4.2 before 4.2.14 and 5.0 before 5.0.7 allows remote attackers to interrupt applications via language codes. get_supported_language_variant() processes attacker-controlled, hyphen-rich language codes without a length limit, repeatedly deriving fallback variants and consuming resources. Reachability requires an application path that passes request-derived language codes to the helper, and exploitation affects availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
