CVE-2024-39604Network attack vector

Command execution via unquoted curl argument injection

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025

Argument injection in Wavlink AC3000 firmware M33A8.V5030.210505 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute commands via an HTTP response. The update_filter_url.sh script extracts Filter_Url_lib from unauthenticated HTTP content and passes it unquoted to curl, permitting option injection. Exploitation requires interception of an outbound update request; injected curl options can overwrite files and compromise the router.
