Login password disclosure via retained process memory
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information disclosure in SAP GUI for Windows 8 allows local users to recover an SAP password from client process memory. Under certain login conditions, the client retains the password used for SAP system authentication in memory; SAP has not disclosed the responsible buffer or code path. Access requires high local privileges and user interaction, and disclosure enables impersonation of the affected SAP user without altering data or service availability.
