Malware scan bypass via API-class selection
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Protection mechanism failure in SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote authenticated users to bypass malware scanning. A programming error lets a developer select API classes that do not enforce the configured malware scanner API; SAP has not disclosed the classes or faulty code path. High-privilege developer access is required, and bypassed scanning permits unchecked content to affect application data and service availability.
