CVE-2024-39556

Local privileged code execution via crafted certificate file

Published Jul 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows local users to execute privileged code. When the set security certificates command loads a crafted certificate file, mgd performs certificate processing that can overrun a stack buffer. CLI access is required; exploitation can instead crash mgd only within the local user's command interpreter.
