Complete outage via unsupported sensor requests
Published Jul 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper exceptional-condition handling in Junos OS chassisd allows remote attackers to cause a complete network-device outage. Requests over gRPC or NETCONF for sensors unsupported by the target platform crash and restart chassisd, which restarts every FPC. The gRPC path requires the request-response extension service configuration; either path interrupts all forwarding on the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
