CVE-2024-39519

Adjacent denial of service via multicast traffic loop

Published Jul 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper condition handling in Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved 22.2R1-EVO through 22.4R1-EVO allows attackers to interrupt forwarded traffic. On ACX7000 platforms configured with IRBs in a dual-homed CE-to-PE EVPN MPLS topology, the PFE loops IPv4 or IPv6 multicast packets instead of terminating abnormal forwarding behavior. An unauthenticated attacker must be adjacent through the customer-edge device; triggering the loop causes a denial of service to forwarded traffic.
