Kernel crash via unchecked base-extension pointer

NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.4 and later affected builds allows local users to crash the kernel via a crafted SOF topology. In sound/soc/sof/ipc4-topology.c, the input-format lookup dereferences process->base_config_ext when a process module has no base configuration extension, although the base format applies to every input. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and a specifically crafted Sound Open Firmware IPC4 topology and sequence; the bounded impact is a kernel crash.
