Remote service interruption via unchecked RLC data
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in the UMTS RLC driver in UNISOC T820 on Android 12 through 14 allows remote attackers to crash the modem. The driver omits a bounds check while processing untrusted RLC data and consequently reads beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and interrupts cellular service; no code execution or persistent device damage is reported.
